2013 Professional Learning Calendar
The 2013 Professional Learning Calendar, as in previous years, is developed in response to learning needs identified through the PMDR process.
What makes it different this year is the extent of programs, the way in which they can be accessed, and the availability of support materials for specific programs and learning areas.
Its focus is to give everyone the opportunity to access timely learning programs, support materials and collegial networks more readily as their learning needs emerge, regardless of campus location.
Two five-month Calendars will be released. The first will cover the period from March to July, the second from July to December.
March to July will include the high demand programs such as Staff Selection Skills, PMDR for Supervisors and Managing Change, new offerings in the Microsoft Suite of programs, and a combined series on Managing for Performance to name a few.
August to December will also include the high demand programs, new programs offered in the first Calendar, the introduction of webinars, online modules and other online opportunities. Specific details of the latter will be available closer to July.
Face-to-face programs will continue to be provided, some will be a combination of face to face and online; others will be offered on line only. People will have the opportunity to choose what delivery method best suits their learning needs. A broad range of online options will be offered through the Professional Learning Centre in Blackboard. This will be launched in July.
The Calendars will also be an easy one-stop reference point for all learning activity, including learning opportunities offered by Library Services, Digital Resources Centre and Workplace Health and Safety.
Please refer to the Financial and Business Services. These are advertised on their website.
You are encouraged to speak to your supervisor if you are interested in attending one of the programs in the Professional Learning Calendar. Nomination for any of the programs offered is completed in MyHR. If you do not have access to MyHR and would like further information or would like to indicate your interest in attending any of the programs, please email od@scu.edu.au.
