PART 2 - PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT

The purpose of this agreement is to provide a balanced framework for a cooperative and productive workplace that improves the performance of Southern Cross University and achieves demonstrable productivity enhancements for the organisation.

The agreement provides conditions of employment that are fair and flexible to employees and the University, and promotes economic sustainability for the future growth and success of the University.

The University and its employees are committed to:
a)providing a working environment where employees are rewarded, developed and supported to contribute to our reputation nationally, regionally and internationally;
b)treating each other in a fair and reasonable manner;
c)being accountable for their workplace responsibilities;

e)providing an inclusive, healthy and safe workplace that achieves equal opportunity, embraces and supports a knowledge of and respect for equity and cultural diversity and prevents and eliminates discrimination, bullying and harassment;
f)supporting, implementing and complying with the University's objectives, priorities, plans, policies and procedures;
g)supporting and implementing initiatives and reform to improve: quality of service to students; quality and extent of academic outcomes; and the operational benefits of new technologies.
