New Work Health and Safety legislation replaced the Occupational Health and Safety legislation on 1 January 2012. As a result, our policies and procedures will soon be reviewed to align with the new legislation. It is estimated this may take several months. If in the meantime you are unsure of your work health and safety responsibilities please contact the Workplace Health and Safety Team on ext 73651 or 79143.

The role of the Workplace Health and Safety Team is to provide advice and assistance concerning the University's Health and Safety program. The University is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all employees, students, contractors and visitors. This is achieved through the commitment of the University community in complying with all relevant policies and procedures.

On this site you will find information regarding office ergonomics, manual handling, safe work methods, laboratory and chemical safety, emergency procedures, incident reporting, injury management, workers compensation, consultation procedures, training, employee assistance and wellbeing programs.
