Employee Wellness Program

massageThe aim of the Wellness Program is to give employees the encouragement and opportunity to enhance their personal health and wellness. The Wellness Program consists of two components:

  • Free services including flu vaccinations and health seminars which are available to all staff; and
  • Subsidised services through the provision of a $100.00 voucher to eligible employees.

What services can I access?

The following services are available through the wellness program:

Free Flu Vaccinations

  • The University purchases the vaccine for Lismore and organises an appropriately qualified person to administer the vaccination.
  • At Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Coffs Harbour campus employees make an appointment with their GP to receive the flu vaccination. The University will compensate employees the difference between the scheduled fee claimed on Medicare and the actual cost charged by their GP.

Free Health Seminars

  • A number of brief seminars will be held across the University throughout the year. The seminars will cover a range of topics such as nutrition, stress management, natural remedies and the benefits of regular exercise.

How can I access these services?

  • To take advantage of the program contact the HR Manager, Workplace Health & Safety (email: steve.mcfarlane@scu.edu.au);
  • If eligible, you will be sent a $100 voucher that will include details of your name and staff ID number;
  • When presenting the voucher to one of the nominated providers, you will be required to show your staff ID card;
  • Each voucher is worth $100 and is not redeemable for cash;
  • You will only be issued with one voucher this year;
  • Vouchers are valid until the end of 24 December 2013;
  • Vouchers are not transferable.

Am I eligible?

  • All employees are eligible for free flu vaccinations and health seminars.
  • Non-casual employees with current appointments in excess of 12 months are eligible for subsidised gymnasium membership and natural therapy consultations.
