Introduction1. The University observes the following public holidays: - New Years Day;
- Australia Day;
- Good Friday;
- Easter Monday;
- ANZAC Day;
- Queen's Birthday
- August Bank holiday (to be taken the first working day after Boxing Day);
- Labour Day;
- Christmas Day;
- Boxing Day;
- Any other holiday proclaimed at the discretion of the University; and
- All other geographically relevant proclaimed holidays.
Christmas/New Year 2011-122. The University will officially be closed from the close of business Friday, 23 December 2011 and reopen on Tuesday 3 January 2012. The University will open for normal business on Friday 23 December 2011 and it is expected that all employees will be on duty unless on approved leave. 3. Professional employees required to work during this time in order to attend to students or maintain other critical services on: - Sunday 25 December 2011; Monday 26 December 2011; Tuesday 27 December 2011; Wednesday 28 December 2011 and Sunday 1 January 2012 will be eligible for normal penalties applying to work on public holidays.
- Thursday 29 December 2011 and Friday 30 December 2011 will receive their normal rate of pay and be granted leave in lieu, equivalent to the number of hours they work, at another convenient time before 31 March 2012, except in special circumstances.
