Welcome to the Southern Cross Business School
Welcome to the Southern Cross Business School (SCBS). SCBS was established in January 2011 following a merger of the School of Commerce and Management and the Graduate College of Management. The School has more than 3000 students studying within Australia and offshore who are engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate study in business and IT. Our students are supported by approximately 50 fulltime faculty who possess academic and professional qualifications and experience.
The research profile of the School is diverse and is centred on the development of four research nodes:
- Entrepreneurship / Enterprise Development
- Information Technology and Information Systems
- Human Resources and Workforce
- Marketing.
SCBS is also looking to establish a new research node to focus on accounting and finance.
The School has also established an extensive international network that supports its teaching and research activities. Formal partnerships in New Zealand, New Guinea, Singapore, and China are supported by developing relationships in Ireland, UK, US and Italy. These partnerships provide the foundation for an international business program that facilitates student and staff exchange and extensive research networks.
The School also conducts frequent reviews of its undergraduate and postgraduate courses, focusing on the changing demands of industry to ensure graduates have the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today's organisations. As a result the School offers a suite of contemporary and relevant courses that are recognised by major industry accreditation bodies across disciplines including accounting, finance, human resource management, IT and marketing.
Yours Sincerely
Professor Stephen Kelly PhD
