A number of our students have extensive work experience but have not been to university for years or ever before. Once they start study the majority of these students realise it's not that hard after all. We give a high level of support and we recommend all students make use of the Postgraduate Course Enrolment Guide. Our academic and student liaison staff are very personable and will do everything they can to help you succeed in your studies.
Our dedicated academic and student liaison staff will give you the support you need to succeed in your studies. We also have a range of study resources available to all students, such as our study skills booklet, which provides practical advice on structuring your assignment, writing skills and referencing. The SCU Academic Skills Development also has a number of guides on assignment writing, referencing, exam preparation and they can even review your assignment structure.
We understand that commencing study is a big decision and the course needs to meet your professional requirements. Our student liaison staff can talk you through your decision and provide recommendations on your course.
We continually receive great feedback on the quality of our student materials from our students. For each unit of study, you will be given a study package that includes textbooks, additional reading, and a comprehensive study guide. The study guide is easy to follow and has 12 topics, one for each week's study. Each unit is also supported by a web-based learning environment.
Our courses are offered at our Gold Coast campus, by distance education, and by Intensive mode. Our flexible study options enable you to choose the study mode that works with your lifestyle.
No, if you are studying by distance, all classes, tele-tutorials and online tutorials are optional. However, in some units participation in online assessment activities is compulsory. If you are studying by Intensive mode, the weekend workshops are compulsory.
The fee for each unit includes all tuition, study materials, textbooks, tele-tutorials, online tutorials and workshops. Our fees are very reasonable and represent real value to our students. Visit the fees page for current prices.
Yes, if you are an Australian citizen you may be eligible to apply for a Commonwealth Government interest free loan. Visit www.goingtouni.gov.au
Yes, many students choose to take time off for employment or family related reasons. You may take up to three complete trimesters off during your candidature. Five years is the maximum period of candidature for a Southern Cross Business School masters course.
