Craig Phillips leads a team of 24 full-time staff and several hundred volunteers. His career journey began in 1982 when he was employed at the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation. From 1985 to 1990 he worked at the NSW Academy of Sport before becoming Technical Director at the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) from 1990 to 1995.

As Technical Director, Craig enrolled at Southern Cross University in 1993 and completed a Graduate Certificate in Management before continuing his study with a Graduate Diploma in Management in 1994 and progressing to a Master of Business Administration (MBA) which he completed in 1999.

Craig's studies propelled him to the position of Director of Sport from 1995 to 2001 at the AOC. He became the Secretary General in 2005.

In 2010, Craig was Southern Cross University's Graduate College of Management (now Southern Cross Business School) Alumni of the Year. This prestigious award is given for exceptional leadership and achievement, outstanding service to the community and creativity and innovation in ideas and services.
