Biogeochemical Process Measurements

We have undertaken biogeochemical process measurements, and in many cases combined with water quality monitoring and macrofauna surveys, in a number of aquatic systems. Within a given aquatic system we have measured biogeochemical processes in many different habitat types including bare sediments, seagrass, benthic microalgae, macroalgae, and mangroves.

Resource managers who wanted a better understanding of how their aquatic ecosystems functioned so that they could better manage their natural resources mostly commissioned these measurements.
