How do I make a journal article from a Library database or ebook available online?

The best way to provide access to items that are already subscribed to by the University Library is to provide a link from Blackboard to the article via the database. Most databases provide a permanent URL within the document details that can be used to make persistent links. The link can be placed directly into Blackboard however, in most cases, the PDF of the article from the database cannot as it would breach the database licence conditions. Contact your Liaison Librarian if you are unsure of where to find the permanent URL.

By linking to the database directly the Library is also able to obtain valuable database usage statistics that help Library Management make informed collection development decisions.
