Unit Description

Are herbal medicines safe in children? How frequently to herb-drug interactions occur? Does it matter when a product contains fruit, leaf or root extracts? How do you combine complementary medicine history into patient records and counsel patients appropriately? This unit is designed to give you the skills to deal with complementary medicines in a professional health environment. This unit has a strong emphasis on safety issues, but also includes understanding the complexity of plant products and techniques for improving patient counselling for complementary medicines use.
