Excellence in Community Engagement Awards

Do you actively involve the external community in your teaching and/or research activities?

Are you focused on creating positive community impact through your work at SCU?

The Excellence in Community Engagement Awards acknowledge and celebrate the contribution of University staff and community partners who have enriched our communities during the past twelve months through active citizenship, community engaged teaching and research.

Categories

The categories for the Excellence in Community Engagement Awards are:

  • Academic Impact
  • Leadership
  • Community Engaged Learning
  • Community Engaged Research

Prizes

Award recipients will receive a letter of acknowledgement from the Vice Chancellor and Head of Community Engagement, a locally hand crafted plaque, and complimentary registration to the upcoming annual conference of the Australian Universities Community Engagement Alliance.

Award recipients will also be profiled through interviews and case studies.

Eligibility

The Excellence in Community Engagement Awards are open to all members of staff at SCU. They recognise the value of collaboration between Professional and Academic members of staff to generate activity of relevance and significance for our communities.

Staff members may nominate as individuals or as teams.

Key Dates

  • Nominations open: Tuesday 4 October 2011
  • Information sessions: 19, 20 & 21 October 2011
  • Nominations close: Monday 21 November 2011
  • Awards reception: Tuesday 6 December 2011
