Award Categories

Academic Impact

This Award recognises contribution towards critical issues in society and is evidenced through community identified impact. Academic impact is defined as active citizenship that furthers the University mission, that is aspirational, appropriate, responsible and reciprocal. This Award incorporates the service activities of individuals, where your contribution as a citizen draws on your expertise and experience as a member of the University community.

Leadership

This Award recognises individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and advocacy for community engagement activity that has been recognized as having the potential to generate scholarly activity and significant community impact. This Award acknowledges members of the University who are catalysts for enhanced university-community engagement that align with the strategic goals of the University in the context of regional need.

Community Engaged Learning

This Award recognises activity that contributes to the student experience by providing meaningful community contexts for student learning. Nominations for this Award will be consistent with Southern Cross University's definition of Community Engaged Learning and demonstrate innovative teaching and learning delivered through mutually beneficial community involvement.

Community Engaged Research

This Award recognises research activity that is defined and driven by the community in response to key societal issues. It recognises research activity that involves community as meaningful partners throughout the research process that has mutual benefit and relevance to a community. Nominations for this Award will reflect reciprocity, collaboration and participation.
