Dr Tania Lienert Memorial Lecture for Social Justice and Diversity 2012.
“We Won’t Be Silenced”
Feminism and Social Justice
Sophie Cunningham
Chair of the Literature Board of the Australia Council, author, publisher, editor,
feminist, educator and social commentator
Writer, publisher and feminist, Sophie Cunningham wants to know what the
current'conservative vision' which dominates political agendas means for feminism and
equal rights. And why is this particular social justice movement encountering more
resistance than others? Sophie will address these and many other questions on the issues
of social justice and equality when she delivers the Dr Tania Lienert Memorial Lecture
for Social Justice and Diversity for 2012. This year’s lecture, ‘We Won’t Be Silenced’:
Feminism and Social Justice, promises to deliver a punch and get the audience thinking
and talking about these important issues.
The lecture will be held on August the 2nd 2012 at the Whitebrook Lecture Theatre, SCU
commencing at 6pm. Drinks and nibbles will be served in the foyer from 5.30 pm.
