Campus tours offer personal touch Southern Cross University will this year be offering personalised campus tours in place of its annual weekend open day.The campus tours, led by Student Ambassadors, will be run during a normal university day at a time to suit the prospective student. Co-ordinator Maya Othenin-Girard said the idea of the tours was to provide information tailored to the needs of individual students. “As part of the tour we can arrange for you to talk with staff in the course area you are interested in as well as show you what our campus has to offer including facilities such as residential accommodation and the library,” Maya said. The tours are run by Student Ambassadors, who are all current students studying at one of the three SCU campuses at Lismore, Tweed Heads and Coffs Harbour. “Campus tours give prospective students the opportunity to spend a normal day at Southern Cross University. This allows visitors to get an accurate idea of university life and culture. It is also an excellent opportunity for prospective students (and nervous parents) to ask any questions ranging from the on-campus social scene to detailed course information. “Our Student Ambassadors are able to answer questions from a student point of view while staff are able to answer questions from an academic perspective. “Student Ambassadors are also able to assist with a variety of different entry options. They are able to listen to the prospective student, identify what their ultimate goal is and suggest ways for that individual to reach their goal.” Tours can be arranged for any of the three campuses at Lismore, Tweed Heads and Coffs Harbour by appointment. To book a campus tour contact Maya on 02 6626 9286 or email campustours@scu.edu.au. |
