Other costs

Expenses can generally be broken into three groups: Study costs, Living expenses and Other expenses.
Each of these three costs are explained in the SCU Study & Living Costs brochure.

Administrative Charges

There are a number of other administrative fees that students may be required to pay at some time during their university life. These may include such things as penalty charges for late re-enrolment, costs associated with graduation etc.

Go to the Student Handbook >> Rules >> Student Fees in the Student Handbook.

Student Body Fees

The Australian Federal Parliament passed Voluntary Student (VSU) Legislation in December 2005. Compulsory association membership, and collection of fees for student associations ceased on 1 July 2006.

On October 11, 2011, the Commonwealth Government passed legislation that enables universities to levy an annual fee capped at $263 per student starting in 2012 and indexed annually. The Higher Education Legislation Amendment (Student Services and Amenities) Bill 2011 clearly outlines the ways in which these funds can be used by Universities and focuses on essential student services that will support and enrich the student experience. See the Services and Amenities Fee page for more information.
