Southern Cross GeoScience is the major contributor to Southern Cross University's 0402 Geochemistry area, which received the top ERA rating of 5, for outstanding performance 'well above world standard' by the Australian Research Council.

To be a world leader in research into land and water processes that are both regionally relevant and globally significant.

Mission

• to conduct research that contributes to the understanding and improved management of our land and water resources with particular reference to the impact of human activity,
• to provide undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional education that will equip students and professional to work effectively on geoscience-related issues,
• to provide high-level consultancy services to both government and non-government agencies involved in the management of our land and water resources, and
• to promote awareness within the community and amongst professionals of the value of understanding of geoscience through publication, professional short courses, exchange programs, and other means as appropriate.
