Printing Web Pages
How web pages print depends on many factors - which browser you are using, how your browser is configured, what sort of printer you are using, and how your printer is setup within your browser.
If web pages do not print as you expect and for example, are missing sections of text on the right hand side of the page, you could try:
Look for a 'print friendly' version of the page. In some cases these are text-only web pages, or they may be downloadable PDF documents [use the 'Different File Formats' link above for help with PDF and RTF documents].
Reduce the page size. This may be presented in a few different ways depending on which browser you are using. Look for:
Option to scale the pages to a smaller size
Print preview which will give you different options to resize your page;
'Shrink to fit' which fits the web page, even if it is quite wide, neatly on to your A4 (or
whatever) page.
Highlight the desired
text to print, and then select File -> Print, and choose 'Print Selected' (if you were using Internet Explorer). This does not print the entire page - only the selected text.
Change your paper orientation to Landscape (rather than Portrait).
Right click and drag over the area you wish to
print to highlight it, then click 'Copy' either from the edit menu. Open a text editor, eg Microsoft Word, then paste the copied web document into Word which you can then format as requird.
Convert the web page to PDF format and you can scale it down as much as
necessary. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader (free version available from
Adobe website). To do this, you would Print to File or PDF, rather than to a printer.
Adjust the Font Size on the page. In Internet Explorer, you would click View -> Text Size ->
Smallest. Note, however, that this method sometimes does not
work on web pages that use tables for formatting.
Try a different browser.
