2011 Year 12 Students

If you’re a school-leaver under the age of 18 on March 1 in the first year of your intended study, your application will be assessed by UAC, QTAC or the Admission staff at Southern Cross University (SCU), taking into account your Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR), Overall Position (OP) or equivalent.

You will complete your UAC or QTAC application at school and get your results and offers as per the UAC and QTAC Key Dates Calendar.

Alternative Pathways for Admission

SCU also offers current Year 12 students a range of pathways for admission that may allow NSW, ACT or Queensland applicants to receive an offer to a course even though they have an ATAR or OP below the published cut-off.

Link STAR Entry Scheme

The Star Entry Scheme assists Year 12 students in our Feeder Region to gain entry to SCU. You may receive an early offer based on your school’s recommendation before Year 12 results are released.

Link Regional Year 12 Bonus Scheme

Current Year 12 students from the SCU Feeder Region will automatically have five bonus points or two bands to their OP added to their selection rank.

Link Special Admission Schemes

If you feel you have been educationally or socially disadvantaged during your school studies by circumstances beyond your control, you may request special consideration when applying to study through UAC or QTAC.

Link Indigenous students — Gnibi College of Indigenous Australian Peoples

Gnibi College at SCU provides a Testing and Assessment Program for Indigenous students.

Link Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme

SCU supports elite athletes and performers competing at a national or international Level through the Elite Athletes Scheme.

Specified Course Criteria

If you have had a strong performance in Year 12 subjects relevant to a university course of study, consideration may be given to other specified criteria in gaining entry to that course. This may involve a personal interview and/or submission of supporting documentation. Students should contact the Student Services Hotline below for details.
