Offers, Acceptance and Payment

Your Offer

If your application to study at Southern Cross University is successful then you will be emailed a copy of your offer and directions to information on:

All this information should be read thoroughly.

Type of offer

Southern Cross University will send you one of the following letters:

  • An Unconditional Offer allows you entry in the next available intake for the course you have selected. No further conditions need to be satisfied. Sometimes alternative courses are suggested if you do not meet entry requirements of the course/s that you have applied for.
  • A Conditional Offer outlines the conditions that need to be satisfied in order for you to be offered a place in your selected course. Evidence must be shown that you have met the conditions before a conditional offer can be converted to an unconditional offer.
  • A Package Offer requires that you complete an English Language Program or another preliminary program before commencing the course. You must accept the entire package by the deadline stated on the offer letter. (Please note: if you choose to re-take an English test and meet the University's English Language requirement, you will need to re-submit your test score to the University's International Office).
  • If your application is unsuccessful: We will send you a letter advising that your application does not meet the University's entry requirements.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

It is a Visa requirement of the Australian Government that all students intending to take up study in Australia should have Overseas Student Health Cover for the expected duration of their student visa. The fee for OSHC is included in Initial Fee. OSHC must be maintained throughout your stay in Australia. If you extend your visa you will need to arrange further cover. This can be done by requesting that the university arrange insurance with its preferred health insurance provider, Medibank Private.

How to accept your offer

Instructions for accepting your offer and paying fees can be found in the document Acceptance Procedures for all Campuses

To secure your place at the University, you must accept the offer and pay the initial fee stated on the offer letter by the deadline clearly stated in the offer letter, or the offer will lapse.

How to pay your fees

The offer letter lists information about a number of ways to pay the initial tuition and OSHC fees. Please note that the electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) will not be issued until all funds are cleared. You can pay:

  • By Telegraphic Transfer (outside Australia only)
  • By telephone/credit card
  • By mail/bank draft, or
  • In person (if already on campus)

Please note: payment must be in Australian Dollars.

Submitting your Student Visa Application

Students from assessment level three, four and five countries will be required to submit their IELTS certificate with their visa application. Information on student visas and how to apply:

Accommodation

If you intend to live on campus while you study we strongly suggest that you apply for on-campus accommodation immediately as places are limited.

Your Next Step

Once Southern Cross University has received your:

  • signed acceptance form,
  • initial tuition fee payment (which includes the compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover payment
  • IELTS Letter and
  • any other documents requested in your conditional offer.

we will issue your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). You should then visit the Arriving in Australia page and follow the instructions.

Your Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE)

Once Southern Cross University has received your:

  • signed acceptance form,
  • initial tuition fee payment (including compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover fee) and
  • IELTS Letter.
    • We will issue your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). The eCOE is issued by email as an attachment together with other important pre-departure information. Please note a hard copy of the eCoE and pre-departure information will be sent in the mail only if requested.
