English Language Requirements

Please note: for students from many countries, an IELTS test result is a prerequisite for obtaining a student visa. You should check whether this is the case for you before choosing which English language test you will take. You are advised to check this with the Australian Government representative in your home country.

Nursing - Registration - English Language Requirements

Please note that in order to register with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council, Bachelor of Nursing graduates must meet language test requirements, which can be satisfied by achieving within the two year period prior to application for registration, either:

  • Academic IELTS 7.0 with no less than 7.0 in any band, or
  • a Pass at "B" level in each of the four components (reading, writing, listening and speaking) of the Occupational English Test (OET) for Nurses.

Education - Provisional and Conditional Accreditation - English Language Requirements

The minimum requirement for Provisional and Conditional Accreditation in NSW after completion of an Education degree is IELTS 7.5 with a minimum of 8.0 in speaking and listening modules and a minimum of 7.0 in reading and writing modules.
