On-campus accommodation

The University gives priority to accommodating its international students on-campus, and guarantees placement on-campus to students applying early.

The University has accommodation for 500 students in Lismore and is expanding its accommodation facilities in response to increasing demand. There is also an on-campus accommodation complex in Coffs Harbour.The accommodation provided is self-contained with two to six bedroom houses or units within modern complexes in leafy settings. The residences are all within walking distance of the campus.

Students have a single bedroom and share kitchen, living and bathroom facilities with small groups of other students. All units are self-catering with students being responsible for food, cooking and cleaning.

The student residences are educationally oriented and provide excellent opportunities for academic and personal growth of students. All residences are fully supervised by residential staff and are provided with well-equipped study centres.

A range of recreational facilities is also provided to residents as are regularly organised social, cultural and sporting events.

Off-campus accommodation

The University offers a comprehensive off-campus accommodation service for students wishing to live off-campus. The cost of off-campus accommodation is slightly more expensive than on-campus but allows students more privacy.

There are a number of options for students to choose from:

Share House: The most popular type of off-campus accommodation is sharing a house or unit with other students. Students do their own cooking and share the cost of household expenses. The cost for a single room is approximately A$80 per week. Living expenses including food, water and electricity are additional to this. Most accommodation of this style is unfurnished and students are given assistance to purchase furniture.

Homestay: Another alternative is to find full-board homestay accommodation with a local family. The cost of this is usually between A$180-A$200 per week, including meals.
