About Email and Calendaring @ SCU
Email and Calendaring @ SCU Project is a project that will deliver cloud based e-mail and other communication services as part of the Microsoft Office 365 offering. This will allow online, anywhere access to email, attachments, contacts, and calendars so you're always up-to-date.
The new email service will offer Southern Cross University students and staff the following benefits:
Larger message storage capacity
25 GB email storage for each user, meaning significantly increased message storage capacity than currently available.
Improved access from portable devices including iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Mobile and other devices
Access calendar entries, contacts, documents as well as e-mail, from your mobile device.
Convenient web and desktop access
Web interface for accessing e-mail as based on same experience as the industry-standard desktop e-mail program Microsoft Outlook.
More effective e-mail search and calendar functions
Search your e-mail for details such as whether an e-mail contains attachments, and save your favourite searches for reuse. Share calendars with other Office 365 users and view multiple calendars side by side.
Built-in anti-spam message filtering
Integrated anti-spam tools for smoother control of e-mail
Reliable assurance that you'll be able to reach your e-mail content from anywhere, whenever you need it.
The project will deliver three distinct phases:
Phase 1: Email SCU students during Session 1, 2012.
Phase 2: Email for Staff during 2012.
Phase 3: Future rollout of other selected Office 365 products during 2012-13
The Email and Calendaring @ SCU Project is managed by Tim Lane.
Regular updates will be forwarded FYI as the project continues. You can also check this site for links to relevant information and updates on project developments.
