Locations, hours and support

Lismore campus

The Lismore campus computing labs for PC users are located on the ground floor of R Block (R1.92, R1.93, R1.94, R1.96) and also Z Block (Z1.15).

Each lab has a booking sheet on the door clearly detailing the permanent and casual bookings for the coming week. These classes take precedence over casual use of the labs and must be respected by students.

Depending on other bookings, eg: for classes or tutorials, the computing labs are generally available for student use during the following hours.

Lismore Computing Labs

All labs in R Block and Z1.15 - Open 24 hours

Lismore Labs Service Desk

Open Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
Closed Saturday and Sunday

Gold Coast-Tweed Heads Campus

Riverside

Computing labs are located on Level 1 (A1.22, A1.21) and Level 2 (A2.16).

Doctorate labs are located in A1.18 and A2.17.

Multi-function Devices (print, copy, scan) are located in the Level 1 student common area and in A2.16 on Level 2. A paystation is also located in the Level 1 student common area. (Note: This is in preparation to having Netcard removed from Riverside.)

Beachside

Computing labs are located on Level 3 (A3.42) and Level 4 (A4.23). Additional computers are available in the Library area (accessible during Library opening hours only).

Multi-function Devices (print, copy, scan) are located in the Level 1 student common area; in A3.42; and, the Level 4 Library resource area (only accessible during Library opening hours). A paystation is also located in the Level 1 student common area.

Lakeside

Computing labs are located on Level 2 in the main building (B2.05 and B2.06).

A Multi-function Device (print, copy, scan) as well as a paystation are also located in B2.05.

Gold Coast-Tweed Heads Computer Labs

Open 7 days
Beachside - open 24 hours
Riverside - open 24 hours
Lakeside 6:00am - 7:00pm (Monday to Friday)

Gold Coast-Tweed Heads Service Desk (located on Level 4 at Beachside in the Library area)

Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (staff might attend to other tasks away from the desk)
Saturday and Sunday Closed

Note: The Gold Coast-Tweed Heads campus labs are open all year except for the week between Christmas and New Year or otherwise advertised.

Support is provided for

  • Hardware problems: equipment faults
  • System accounts: login details, passwords, disk quotas
  • Printing queries and problems and supply of paper and toner for the laser printers
  • General support for standard software: Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer and SCU Webmail.

Course-related assistance is only provided by your lecturer or tutor. We strongly encourage the use of the online HELP feature of the program you are using, BEFORE seeking help from the lab support staff.
