Our Role
Our core purpose is to provide high quality in-house legal services to the University, in particular, providing legal advice to the University Council, the Vice Chancellor and senior executives as well as other University officers. We also organise and coordinate the provision of legal services to the University from external lawyers.
We aim to deliver a high quality service to ensure that the University can achieve its mission and goals, including by:
- Identifying and helping to reduce risks to the University
- Providing advice that ensures high quality decision-making within the University
- Playing a pro-active role in developing and reviewing policies, rules and procedures
- Operating and maintaining a contract management database and a commercial activities register
