Library Events
The primary purpose of events in the Library is to enrich the intellectual, educational, and cultural life of the SCU community. Events held in the Library provide the opportunity for SCU students and staff and the local community to come together to share a diversity of ideas, values, and artistic expressions.

'Nimbinnovations: Living the Dream'
Southern Cross University Library and the Aquarian Archive have worked together to present a unique tribute to the 40th Anniversary of the 1973 Nimbin Aquarius Festival.
'Nimbinnovations: Living the Dream' will celebrate 18 innovations that the 1973 Nimbin Aquarius Festival pioneered: from natural childbirth to recycling and from home building to renewable energy.
The exhibition, on display in the SCU Library Lismore from Wednesday May 15, comprises banners, posters, photographs, documents and other memorabilia.
The curator is Dr Graham Irvine, one of the co-founders of the Aquarian Archive. The Aquarian Archive is a history of alternative communities in the Northern Rivers in the wake of the 1973 Nimbin Aquarius Festival.
The SCU Library Lismore is open from Monday – Thursday 8am to 9pm, Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday 1 – 5pm.
The exhibition will be on display until Monday May 27.

'Altered Books, Altered Spaces' an exhibition of altered books, installations and posters. Second Year Visual Arts & Media Students. Studio ONE29 V Block and SCU Library, Lismore Campus 22 May - 5 June 2013. Opening 4pm Wednesday 22 May starting Lismore Library Exhibition Space then moving to Studio ONE29 V Block.
'Light & Air' an exhibition of chalk pastels and oil paintings by John Flakelar, a visiting artist from the Central Coast. The exhibition is a reflection of his life travels through the high country streams of the Snowy Mountains, the ruggered bushland of the outback, to the coastal beaches. 'Indigenous Artists' Book Project' a showing of 4 Indigenous artists' books sponsored by Arts Northern Rivers. Opening 4 pm Thursday 27 June at the Lismore Library Exhibitions Space.
