Altered Book Project: 'Shelf Life'

22 March - 15 April 2011, Southern Cross University Library, Lismore.

The Altered Book Project is a collaboration between SCU Library and Visual Arts students and staff. Books have a shelf life: rather than discarding books that had been 'withdrawn from stock' the Library made these available to Visual Arts for reworking into art objects. The result is this exhibition of altered books that extends the life of these books through a variety of considered and playful manipulations.

These books will be on display in the Library Exhibition space on Level 2 of the Lismore Library from Monday 28 March until Friday 15 April 2011.

Included in the show are works from private collections in New York and London.

Curated by SCU Visual Art Students: Annique Goldenberg, Sally Anderson and Lauren Mackley.
