Southern
Cross University Library offers a program of information skills
instruction that ranges from introductory Library orientation and
use of the catalogue through to customised classes on advanced information
searching and management skills.
Classes are
generally conducted within the campus libraries and content is often
tailored to suit particular students' needs. For example, classes
can be arranged to target the specific needs of student groups within
a discipline. General classes are also offered which are customised
where possible for the students who attend.
Staff, postgraduate
students and undergraduate students undertaking research-based units
may also make appointments with their School's liaison
librarian for individual or group consultations.
In addition
to training courses, the Library offers a range of online
tutorials and guides
covering information searching and management skills, as well as
an e-mail service which
provides individual assistance.
