Southern Cross University Library is a member of the following organisations and consortia:
CAUL: The Council of Australian University Librarians
CAUL [www.caul.edu.au*] has as its mission the advancement of teaching, learning and research through planned cooperative endeavours by Australian university libraries. CAUL provides a forum for discussion of issues relating to libraries and a mechanism for the coordination of activities which benefit the university community.
IATUL: International Association of Technological University Libraries
IATUL [www.iatul.org*] provides a forum for the exchange of ideas relevant to librarianship in technological universities throughout the world. It also provides library directors and senior managers an opportunity to develop a collaborative approach to solving common problems.
IFLA: The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions
IFLA [www.ifla.org*]is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession.
QULOC: Queensland University Libraries Office of Cooperation
QULOC [www.quloc.org.au*] was established to initiate and support cooperative library activities to enhance the effectiveness of information services in each of the member institutions. QULOC provides a framework for promoting cooperative ventures between university libraries - nine in Queensland and Southern Cross University in northern New South Wales.
UNILINC
UNILINC is a not-for-profit organisation originally formed in 1978 to co-ordinate the cost-effective provision of sophisticated library technologies in the higher education sector with the aim of saving costs and facilitating resource-sharing. Since then the membership has expanded to include a number of other libraries within a variety of specialised organisations.
UNISON: University Librarians in the State of NSW
UNISON is a committee which comprises the University Librarians of all NSW Universities. Through its Chair, the UNISON Committee reports to the NSWVCC.
ALIA: Australian Library and Information Association
The Australian Library and Information Association is the professional organisation for the Australian library and information services sector. It seeks to empower the profession in the development, promotion and delivery of quality library and information services to the nation, through leadership, advocacy and mutual support.
