Distance Education
Southern Cross University offers at mid-year a range of courses by distance education including Business, Social Science, Arts and Law. Distance education study is often the best option for people who are unable to travel to campus or who are juggling work and family commitments.
If you prefer this study option and your chosen course is offered in this mode, then you will be well supported by our specialist distance education studies staff. Depending on the course of study, the virtual environment or e-classroom enables teachers to actively engage with students in different locations, and students to talk to each other using learning materials interactively.
If you're looking to expand your skills, re-enter the job market after an absence, or want a complete career change, studying by distance education may provide the answer. Click on the course options list to see which courses are available by distance education.
"SCU was the only university offering the Associate Degree as an alternative to the Bachelor of Laws.
Furthermore, the course was offered by distance education and part-time, and as a single working mum it suited my schedule perfectly."

Nathan Quinn has been competing with his own racing team in the Australian Rally Championship for almost three years and is completing a Bachelor of Business by distance education.
"For me, the external study option was really appealing because it provides the flexibility I need to be able to fit my study in around work and sport.
Current students have been very supportive and the SCU staff are terrific. A tutor who had been monitoring my online attendance recently contacted me to see if everything was okay. That was pretty impressive."
