Southern Cross University has a range of educational collaborations, both onshore and offshore, with various education providers. Most educational collaborations are for a term of five (5) years. The mechanisms employed by the University to assure and enhance the quality of these collaborations include: - A Commercial Activities Guide that provides a framework for educational collaborations and includes detailed information for the establishment and renewal of collaborations including due diligence and contractual requirements.
- The Guidelines for Offshore and Collaborative Programs that provides detailed information on the quality assurance requirements for educational collaborations. The Guidelines contain a Quality Assurance Schedule that is required for the establishment of a new educational collaborations.
- A Quality Assurance Manual prepared for educational collaborations to provide guidance on quality assurance matters and particularly for onshore collaborations, to outline the requirements and responsibilities for international students as required under the ESOS Act.
- Course Procedures Manuals that are developed by the relevant SCU Faculty and provided to educational collaborations to guide them in the implementation of academic and administrative procedures for SCU courses.
- Management Committees have been established for each collaboration to ensure the smooth running and quality of the collaboration. They meet at least twice per year and provide an Annual Report using a template incorporating key performance indicators and quality assurance items.
- A five-yearly Organisational Review process that provides a quality assurance audit report to the Vice-Chancellor, the Planning and Quality Committee and the International Advisory Committee.
- An Action Plan which follows up on recommendations arising from the Organisational Review process, usually requiring a report on progress after twelve (12) months.
- The International Advisory Committee and the Planning and Quality Committee provide University oversight and guidance for educational collaborations.
AusLISTAusLIST is an online directory that is managed by the Australian government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). It contains: - Australian education and training providers
- the Australian courses they deliver offshore
- locations where those courses are delivered.
AusLIST enables prospective students, their familles, overseas governments and other stakeholders to access information about courses offered offshore by Australian institutions. To list on AusLIST, institutions are required to declare their commitment to providing quality education delivery offshore and are verified by Australian authorities as being bona fide Australian institutions and qualifications. AusLIST will therefore give reassurance to students and stakeholders that the courses listed meet Australian domestic registration and accreditation standards. The Southern Cross University courses that have been approved for listing on AusLIST can be found here: AusLIST
