Southern Cross University's Preparing for Success Program was established to help people develop the academic skills needed to succeed at University. If you have the ambition to upgrade your skills with university study, but don't meet the formal entry requirements or are returning to study and would like to brush up on your skills, the Preparing for Success Program could be for you. The course provides an alternative entry path into the University. It's a 12 week program designed to teach would-be students the practical essay writing, researching and analytical skills they need to pursue their academic studies successfully. Preparing for Success can be studied in a variety of flexible ways to assist those juggling other commitments. The Program is available to study by distance education or as an internal program at the University's Lismore, Gold Coast and Tweed Heads and Coffs Harbour campuses. As there are no HECS fees charged to students, the course is fee free. The course is useful for school leavers or TAFE students who have taken the vocational strand of learning but would now like to go to university. It's also valuable for those who have spent time away from the academic environment for family, career or personal reasons and want to revise their skills before entering into the university environment. If you dream about getting a university degree but lack the confidence or formal entry qualifications, now could be the time to act by applying for the Preparing for Success Program.
