Established in February 1999, the Centre for Phytochemistry and Pharmacology is a leading authority in natural products chemistry and bioactivity, and has developed a reputation as a centre of excellence in the research and development of medicinal and functional plant extracts. Located on the Lismore campus of Southern Cross University, Australia, the Centre undertakes commerical analyical work and also engages in both collaborative and contract research, and is committed to undertaking fundamental and applied research to produce value added products based on bioactive natural extracts.
The Centre's research objectives are: To investigate the chemistry and biological activity of Australian native plants and other natural products. To collaborate with other Universities from Australia
and overseas, and provide training and experience to post-graduate students
in the field of plant chemistry and bioactivity. |
