Access to the grapevine pilot library ESTs can be arranged on the following basis:

currently the Grapevine Genome Database has sequences available covering the Pilot Libraries (~2,500 distinct sequences from a total of 5,000 ESTs of Chardonnay leaf and berry libraries). The Centre for Plant Conservation Genetics has been involved in a larger project (19,000 distinct grapevine ESTs) with a corporate partner and are seeking access to this data in the future on behalf of subscribers to the Pilot Libraries.

privileged access will be provided under conditions as stipulated in an agreement which the recipient would enter into. Amongst other things this would require the recipient to agree to pay a royalty (nominally 5%) of all net proceeds from commercialisation of any product generated directly from the use of the data provided. The recipient will also be required to give an undertaking not to transfer the data to any other party. The agreement document is available on this site as a pdf file. Clause 6 of the agreement regarding GST applies only to organisations within Australia.

privileged access will be provided upon payment of a handling fee to offset the computing and administrative costs associated with providing this service. The data will be provided through a Web password that allows downloading of sequences and automatic BLAST searching. In addition, the data will be sent to you on CD-ROM in order to better facilitate analysis of the data in bulk. The fee is AUD 1 400.00 (approximately USD 750.00) and payable in Australian dollars. Current exchange rates can be obtained at oanda.com.

descriptions of the data are available in the publications listed on this web site. Copies of some of these papers can be provided upon request.

in addition to the EST sequences, the Centre for Plant Conservation Genetics can provide DNA of particular accessions. Access to this material will be negotiated on a case by case basis depending upon the requirements.
