Genomics for Cereal Scientists Workshop

The Centre for Plant Conservation Genetics at Southern Cross University will host an interactive workshop of presentations, discussions and laboratory demonstrations on the latest genomic tools for cereal scientists.

The Genomics for Cereal Scientists Workshop will be held immediately following the 58th Australian Cereal Chemistry Conference on the Gold Coast in September 2008. This workshop will highlight new technologies available to plant breeders, cereal chemists and food scientists including:

  • High-throughput cereal sequencing
  • Next generation cereal sequencing
  • DNA extraction from cereals
  • Cereal variety identification
  • Use of transformation for cereals
  • Micro-array analysis of cereals
