SCU Whiteness Workshops

This series of three workshops provides a space for extended discussions about "colour", "race" and citizenship in Australia, 2006, by using "whiteness" as a frame for engagement and enquiry.

The workshops are designed to maximise interaction with others and their ideas. The aim is that the workshops are participatory and engaging and will be a stimulus for creative and critical products in any form, whether through writing, visual art, music, performance or other media.

An exhibition planned for later in the year will provide an opportunity for displaying or performing work.

All three workshops are free and include lunch. Numbers are limited to thirty and there is an expectation participants will attend for the day, and hopefully, for all three workshops. The first workshop will be a forum for discussing the idea of "whiteness", and identifying interests and issues to explore in further workshops.

If you would like to register for this first workshop or find out more please contact Rob Garbutt by email at rgarbutt@scu.edu.au . Scholarships are available for SCU students who need assistance to attend (conditions apply - please enquire).
