Research Profile

The Division of Research (DoR) at Southern Cross University concentrates on developing research activities in fields of national and international significance. In developing this research, the University draws upon local resources and opportunities as far as possible, and in return strives to make a significant contribution to the North Coast region.

The Research Training Unit works to provide quality assurance across the complete academic cycle of a postgraduate research candidate - from recruitment, to supervision, to supported candidate progress, through to examination. This Unit provides leadership and support to research candidates to enable them to achieve their goals and works with supervisors to ensure quality of experience for all postgraduate students.

The Division also administers policies and rules as they relate to research through the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) and for research training through the Higher Degrees Research Committee (HDRC).

The Research and Commercial Services Unit supports business development in the field of research including the sourcing of funding, scholarships and grants and the development of research contracts.
