HSC study day for students and teachers

HSC Day

For over ten years the School of Education has hosted an annual HSC Study Day for Students and Teachers. Each year approximately 900 Year 12 students and their teachers travel to Southern Cross University's Lismore campus in June to attend a full day of sessions on Higher School Certificate preparation to help students 'get the edge to succeed' as they prepare for their final exams. The event is a joint initiative of the University's School of Education, the Department of Education and the Catholic Education Office in Lismore.

Experts who are experienced in setting and marking Higher School Certificate exam papers present on a wide range of topics throughout the day to give both students and teachers a fantastic insight into HSC expectations. The presentations highlight which specific topic areas need to have been thoroughly prepared for, so that teachers and students alike can be reassured they have studied all necessary syllabus requirements.

Presenters include:

former chief examiners,
members and chairs of the Board of Studies Committee, and
HSC advice line teachers and senior markers from subject areas including:

physics
PDHPE
chemistry
history
modern history
ancient history
biology

food technology

hospitality

With high calibre presenters from across NSW, the Southern Cross University HSC Study Day for Students and Teachers is a valuable way that the School of Education supports the learning success of students across the region.
