Primary education
The School of Education offers a range of study options for those who are interested in becoming a teacher in a primary school environment (Kindergarten to Year 6). Our primary school teacher education courses are designed to be practical, engaging and fun, while fostering the highest level of commitment, skill and professionalism on the pathway to primary teaching.
The Bachelor of Education (Primary) is a four-year full-time course (or part-time equivalent) designed for applicants who wish to gain a qualification to become a primary school teacher and who do not already hold a degree. This qualification is approved by the NSW Institute of Teachers.
The Bachelor of Education (Primary) - 4th Year Upgrade, available via distance education, enables 3-year trained primary school teachers to complete a selection of units to qualify with a Bachelor of Education (Primary) qualification.
The Bachelor of Teaching is suitable for those who hold an undergraduate degree in a discipline other than education, which meets the requirements for admission as determined by the NSW Institute of Teachers. This course is only available to International students.
