Angela Seidel, Senior Manager for large FMCG
Doctor of Business Administration

Angela has undertaken extensive undergraduate and postgraduate studies and is now completing her DBA with Southern Cross University. She chose the program as it is well established and respected and says that the staff are 'very responsive'. One of the best things about the DBA program is its flexibility. My supervisor has guided me towards literature and broadened the scope of my research project. The support from staff is excellent they are very responsive. For those thinking about doing their doctorate with SCU, it will be worth the effort!

	Ivy Tandon Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) Ivy Tandon is in her third trimester of a Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) with the Graduate College of Management at SCU Riverside in Tweed Heads. Originally from Delhi, Ivy has been in Australia for nine months.
Domestic Students - Distance
	Karina Samperi, Business Consultant Master of Business Administration Karina Samperi has worked for many years as a business consultant specialising in operational improvement and change management. It was one of Karina's clients who originally recommended SCU's MBA to her. Karina says that her experience has been positive¿ as she was provided with practical learning and a high level of support.
	David Cooke, General Manager Direct Operations, Konica Minolta Doctor of Business Administration David chose SCU's DBA program because of the caliber of his supervisor and the breadth of the DBA program. He praises the academic and support staff for their assistance and says completing a DBA has been a gratifying and enriching experience.

	Michelle McPherson, Regional Laboratory Manager, Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology Master of Business Administration In her role as a Regional Laboratory Manager, Michelle McPherson has been able to directly apply what she has learnt from her studies to the workplace. Michelle says that the course materials and academic support were excellent and she recommends study at SCU.
	Lisa Thomas, Business Services Manager Master of Business Administration Studying an MBA with SCU helped Lisa secure her current role as Business Services Manager at one of largest State Schools in Queensland. Derek says he has received brilliant support from staff throughout his studies with SCU.
	Ian Hart, CEO, Thoroughbred Racing South Australia Master of Business Administration Ian Hart studied an MBA by distance and says that the 'support mechanisms are excellent and the program was of enormous assistance to me in reinforcing appropriate business modelling and increasing awareness of key issues'. He recommends the program with 'complete confidence' and believes it is an 'excellent investment.
	Michael Kitzelmann, Principal Consultant, Queensland Department of the Premier and Cabinet Master of Business Administration Michael Kitzelmann began his studies with Southern Cross University initially as part of the corporate program. Michael was so impressed with the course that he continued on to complete his MBA and was amazed at how well the course units were structured so the knowledge could be readily applied to any business environment.
	Garth Young, General Manager, Advanced Steralisation Products Healthcare Master of Business Administration (International Business) In his role as General Manager of Advanced Steralisation Products Healthcare, Garth Young has utilised the skills he has developed from the MBA program. Applying the principles from the course, Young says he picked up 'eighteen international contracts. The company's sales have tripled in a year.' Garth chose SCU because of 'the flexible delivery of the course and personal recommendations from a colleague'.
	Peter Ellis Doctor of Business Administration Peter Ellis joined the Southern Cross University DBA program after completing his MBA in Queensland. Peter researched a number of doctoral courses, but chose SCU because the program 'worked closely with doctoral candidates, guiding them through the maze of doctoral research'.
	Jason Gavin, Brand Manager, Nexium Doctor of Business Administration According to Jason, the DBA program is opening up many doors in a professional sense and as a person. It has enabled him to address real problems in industry and academia and develop his skills as a researcher.
	Shane O'Leary, CEO 2009 Sydney World Masters Games Graduate Certificate in International Sport Management Shane O'Leary is the CEO of the Sydney World Masters Games. Shane believes that the graduate certificate is 'a well regarded qualification, relevant to my role in organising an international event'. He adds that the 'overseas students are in the industry and you can tap into their thoughts and make use of their connections¿.
	John Flynn, Mining Manager, Lihir Gold Limited Master of Business Administration According to John, studying an MBA is an important component of career development¿ and says there are numerous examples of how he has been able to apply his studies to the workplace. After studying the project management unit John initiated a Project Management System for his employees to use when managing projects from $100,000 up to $20million.
	Peter Barber, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Learning and Organisation Development Doctor of Business Administration As a Senior Vice President working in Asia, flexibility was an important factor in Peter's choice of DBA program. He selected SCU because of the reputation of distance the program and says that the best things about the program are the flexibility and the quality of the materials and program'.
	Slava Zenman, Manager of Processed Food Export Policy Doctor of Business Administration Slava says that her supervisor has played a very important role in her research and has provided moral support¿ and guided her through the process. According to Slava, the support staff have also been 'helpful, quick to respond and have understood her work commitments.
	Hok Lun Li, Financial Advisor, Westpac Master of Business Administration For Hok Lun Li, the flexibility of SCU's MBA program was very beneficial. 'Interaction with fellow students via networking efforts, teletutorials or workshops proved to be of fantastic value.'
	Greg Collins Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) The MPA has provided Greg Collins with the opportunity to change career direction. Greg says that the flexibility of the course has enabled him to find the perfect balance between ¿being a full time father and studying to be an accountant¿.
	Eva Lorraine Joachimsthal, Postdoctoral Research Fellow Graduate Certificate in Research Management Eva Lorraine Joachimsthal says that the Graduate Certificate in Research Management made her to think about the direction of her research and the way that it¿s organised. Eva recommends the course for anyone who is interested in ¿furthering their career in research¿ and says she was able to apply what she learnt directly to her work.

	Andrew Mebold Master of Business Administration In his current management role for an international organisation, Andrew Mebold has implemented the strategies he learnt from the MBA program. Andrew believes that the MBA was a 'good investment' and says the best things about SCU were the 'superb business campus, flexible course program and the true learning experience'.
	Martin Kunst Doctor of Business Administration Martin Kunst is a DBA student studying on the Tweed Gold Coast campus. Martin says that mentors make all difference and that his DBA supervisor has helped him in 'developing his research skills and initiating ideas'.
International Students
	Suman Sen Master of Business Administration Suman Sen is an international student from West Bengal in India, who has been studying at Southern Cross University since 2007. Suman says the best things about SCU are the 'Excellent learning assistance and the student-friendly faculties'.
	Steen Nordby Holck Master of Business Administration Steen Nordby Holck is an international student from Copenhagen in Demark studying an MBA. Steen says the campus size has allowed him to 'easily interact with students and staff' and he thinks that the Gold Coast is 'a great place to study and live'. Steen aspires to become a general manager for a large international company.
	Roy Mumu, CEO National Road Authority Master of Business Administration Roy Mumu says his career had plateaued before studying an MBA at SCU. After completing his studies in 2007, Roy was appointed CEO of the National Roads Authority in PNG and praises SCU staff for ¿making a difference in his career.
	Sid Singh Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) Sid Singh is an international student from Mumbai in India, who is studying a MSCM. Sid enjoys living in the Tweed Gold Coast region and says that the SCU lecturers have good academic knowledge and industry experience and the smaller class sizes allow for more interactivity¿.
	George Oli Master of Business Administration (Advanced) George Oli has over thirty years work experience in the private and public sectors, which has prepared him well for the MBA (Advanced) program. George is from PNG and likes the people, beaches and climate of the Tweed Gold Coast. For George, the best things about SCU are the professional staff, learning support and state of the art technology.
	Dr Andy Woo, Managing Director of ASEAN Novell Corporation Doctor of Business Administration Dr Andy Woo is the Managing Director of ASEAN Novell Corporation (Malaysia). Dr Woo says that completing the SCU DBA is 'the most enriching task and experience he has been through' and he urges others to 'complete this as a strategic move up the professional career ladder'.
	Nongkran Anuntaakalakul Doctor of Business Administration Nongkran is an international student from Thailand who has been studying a DBA on campus. Nongkran is following in the footsteps of her older sister, Kanrawee who graduated from her DBA at Southern Cross University in 2006. Nongkran has high praise for her supervisor, Dr Carmen Cox who she says has been very kind to her and has helped her greatly with her research.
