Coffs Harbour campus
The laboratories available to students across Nursing and Psychology offer a modern, safe, and well equipped learning environment. Specialised health facilities available at the Coffs Harbour campus feature the following laboratories:
| The Nursing Clinical Labs are fitted with state of the art hospital and electronic teaching equipment. Students are able to work with specialised mannequins to practice their nursing skills. Staff teaching in these labs are all practicing clinicians, and nursing technical staff are on site to prepare and assist in classes. | |
| The Anatomy Lab, located at the National Marine Science Centre, is utilized by students enrolled in Nursing at SCU's Coffs Harbour Campus. A range of medical and diagnostic equipment and interactive software is available to provide students with hands-on learning experience in preparation for entry into. Equipment includes life sized anatomical models, microscopes, histological slides and dissection equipment. | |
| Cognitive Neuroscience and Behaviour Lab is the base for Psychology researchers and research students to engage in projects and research activities aimed at describing the neural correlates of sensory and multi-sensory processing in humans. Projects of both a pure and applied focus run in parallel within the physical space of the lab itself, and at various sites within the broader research community. | |
| The Virtual Reality Lab is designed to provide a controlled experimental space which can present a fully immersive environment to the participant. | |
| PointLightLab is a software package designed and developed at Southern Cross University which focuses on manipulating and presenting Point Light based visual stimuli. This paradigm is useful in a wide range of motion based and biological motion based perception experiments. The software supports the creation, presentation and data recording phases on the experiment in a number of psychophysical paradigms. |
