ASLaRC Aged Services Unit
ASLaRC Aged Services Unit is a joint initiative of Southern Cross University and the University of New South Wales, Faculty of Medicine, Rural Clinical School, with links to the North Coast Institute of TAFE and the Coffs Harbour Senior College.
Our vision is to be an internationally recognised Centre of Excellence in relation to the delivery of aged services for regional and rural communities, and to achieve this through teaching, research, the promotion of evidence-based practice and community engagement.
Northern NSW is home to a growing retirement community - already the percentage of the region's population aged '60 and better' is much higher than the average for NSW overall, and indeed, for Australia and is growing at a faster rate than most of the country. As a result, ASLaRC is becoming a critical resource to a range of community stakeholders in planning and implementing programs and services for both well and frail older people.
