AEJNE Volume 3 - No.2 March,1998. EDITORIAL As you might have realised the AEJNE has a new home. It is now supported and based at the School of Nursing and Health Care Practices, Southern Cross University, Lismore, Australia. A prettier campus you will never see. There have been a few changes to the editorial board as well. Peter Cleasby the foundation editor, is having a well earned break and Colin Pursche and John Stevens are now at the e-desk. The format of the journal is ever evolving as the technology is rapidly advancing as is our ability to use it. The feel of the journal will hopefully however, remain constant. We wish to provide a medium to allow people with an interest in nursing education to communicate. The journal has a highly credentialled and experienced referee panel for those who wish to be considered in the internationally refereed section. There also remains a nonrefereed section for those whose work is valuable but not quite rigorous enough to be peered reviewed. We provide this important venue because the refereeing process has often been criticised for being a form of censorship, stifling the flow of ideas in favour of academic rigour. So write and explore ideas in a quality environment that is not stifling. We have also retained the student contribution section. Both post and undergraduate students in nursing related programs are welcome to submit work to AEJNE. The journal remains free to air. There are no subscription fees. Be encouraged to correspond with authors and the editors through the quick and environmentally friendly medium of the web. The medium of the web allows us as editors certain freedoms. We are not tied into publishing deadlines as are hard copy journal editors therefore AEJNE will appear regularly determined by the volume of publishable materials rather than by date. It is anticipated that there will be at least two more issues this year
We look forward to seeing from you.
Enjoy
