All Media students complete an introductory audio-visual production unit, COM10627 Telling Tales: Introduction to Digital Storytelling, and Screen students go on to complete two other more advanced digital video production units. In these units, students work usually in groups on video production projects of various sorts - television commercials, short films and video essays on a given theme. Students gain access to the full range of professional production equipment, such as HD cameras, lighting kits and sound recording equipment, as well as the multi-cam television studio. These examples are from COM10627, where students were asked to reflect on the topic "slow media," and from COM10112 From Page to Production: Essential Screen Skills, where students produce a 30-second TV commercial.
