The Southern Cross University Acquisitive Artsits’ Book Award is coordinated by the SCU next Art Gallery. Now in it’s 5th year this annual award provides Southern Cross University with an opportunity to continue to develop an artists’ book collection of national significance and in so doing also contribute to the development and awareness of artists’ books as an art form.
The collection includes work by: Bea Maddock, Ron McBurnie, Stanus Menshic, Debra Phillips, Michael Schiltz, Jonathan Tse, Noel McKenna, Diedre Brollo, Normana Wight, Patrick Jones, Lyn Ashbey, John Smith, Andrew Williams, Victoria Cooper, Codex Event 4, Henning Eichinger, Noreen Grahame, Peta Hansen, Martin Johnson, Cerise Ward, Doug Spowart, Victoria Cooper, Sarah Bodman, Cornelius Delaney, Lyn Ashby, Sara Bowen, Clyde McGill, Peter Lyssiotis, Monica Oppen, Gail Stiffe, Michele Vandermeer, Dianne Longley



The Southern Cross University nextart Gallery provides an accessible community resource for the exhibition and publication of contemporary visual art. The exhibition program reflects the areas of interest and research undertaken by staff and students at SCU.
