Research highlights
The School of Tourism and Hospitality Management values research and scholarship. Staff of the school have expertise in a range of areas including public policy and planning, hospitality management, destination management, gambling and gaming, nature-based tourism and sustainability. Scholarship and research underpin all of the School's work and staff publish widely and hold invited positions as editors and members of editorial boards on a number of international journals.
The School also hosts the Centre for Gambling Education and Research and the Centre for Tourism, Leisure and Work.
Centre for Gambling Education and Research
Established in 2003 as a research centre at Southern Cross University, the Centre for Gambling Education and Research conducts research and consulting, and provides educational programs in gambling operations, management, policy and impacts.
Centre for Tourism, Leisure and Work
The Centre for Tourism, Leisure and Work (CLTW) is the first interdisciplinary research Centre of its kind within Southern Cross University. It stands apart from other tourism-orientated research centres in that it combines a focus on lifestyle pursuits with the economic driver of work.
