SCPS Analytical provides a range of genetic technologies and supports the centre's research activities as well as providing high quality sequencing, genotyping services and research collaborations to external clients.

Major platforms include:

• Illumina MiSeqMiSeq is a fully integrated personal sequencer that delivers a streamlined solution from rapid sample prep through automated data analysis and storage.Applications include shotgun genome sequencing, RNA-seq, sRNA profiling.
• Applied Biosystems 3730 Genetic AnalyserApplications include Sanger sequencing, SSR genotyping, and TILLING.
• Sequenom MassARRAY This system processes samples using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) which can resolve mass differences to three Daltons. Applications include high-throughput SNP genotyping and oligonucleotide quality control.
