Bioinformatics

Southern Cross Plant Science (SCPS) currently uses a range of bioinformatics tools for analysis of whole genome and other biological data.

Our infrastructure includes linux servers with large memory and file storage capacity. These are housed in the new SCU Data Centre and accessed remotely.

We are currently investing in higher capacity processing and storage facilities, including dedicated sequence search and matching hardware.

SCPS benefits from SCU membership of INTERSECT, which provides support and access to High Performance Computing facitlities.

During 2012 SCPS will port and take over management of the www.brassica.info website, supporting the international Brassica research community.
