What are Articulation Pathways?
Southern Cross University is dedicated to providing a range of recognised and rewarding educational pathways from other educational institutes into, between and from our degree programs. This ensures greater access and enjoyment of quality educational experiences either with priority access and/or maximum credit recognition (advanced standing) for previous studies, helping you complete your degree sooner.
SCU Articulation Pathways are:
- an excellent bridge between school, TAFE, college and university;
- an alternative pathway to achieving your goals and dreams;
- a smart way to boost your university selection rank;
- an ability to secure a job using your vocational work based skills while working your way through your degree; and
- an opportunity to cut months off your degree.
If you hold an Australian Certificate IV - Associate Degree; or equivalent overseas qualification, you are well on your way to securing entry into most SCU undergraduate degrees. Where you study an SCU undergraduate degree that is of a similar specialisation or field as your prior study, you may reduce the duration of your SCU degree and save tuition fees, by being granted advanced standing (credit) for your current skills and knowledge in the field.
Articulation pathways, which are formal, published educational arrangements between SCU and other Australian and international institutes, recognise that if you have been successful with prior study, you are also likely to be a good university candidate. In addition, articulation arrangements embody the notion that you should not have to repeat learning experiences that you have already mastered. However, the best thing about articulation arrangements is that entry into related degrees is secure, provides for maximum advanced standing and is predetermined, allowing you to consider your study and career options in advance, to confidently plan and model your route using SCU's current Articulation Pathways and to more seamlessly apply for course admission and advanced standing with SCU.
Articulation pathways have been established with Gold Coast Institute of TAFE, TAFE NSW - North Coast Institute, all other TAFE NSW Institutes and many other Australian and overseas educational institutes.
To find out how much advanced standing (credit) may be awarded for completed studies associated with an existing, articulation pathway please visit Southern Cross University's Advanced Standing Search.
To find out about credit for complete or partially complete studies that are not associated with an articulation pathway, or if you are eligible to apply for advanced standing for current and relevant professional experience, skills or expertise visit our Advanced Standing website.
