What are the Uni Games all about?

For many years, SCU has been a member and proudly participated in Australian University Sport. In 2011, team SCU placed 11^th nationally out of the 42 Australian universities that competed.

In 2011 SCU placed strongly in the following sports at AUS events

• Surfing men’s, women’s and overall Champions
• Ten Pin Div 2 Champions
• Women’s Touch Div 2 Bronze Medallists
• Women’s Hockey NUG Silver Medallists
• Lawn Bowls NUG Silver Medallists
• Rugby 7 NUG Medallists

The Games are recognised as a perfect opportunity for university athletes to compete against each other in regional and national multi-sport events. The games have built up a reputation as a not-to-be-missed event, attracting over 6000 participants each year.

Uni games events provide a great opportunity to meet other uni students from both SCU and all over Australia. Off the sporting field, the Games offer an action-packed social program that is run to compliment the sporting activities. The social program includes events such as theme nights and dress-up competitions as well as novelty events and competitions that enhance the event experience for participants.

In 2012 we are looking for even a better performance with the Northern Uni Games, AUC Surfing & Twenty 20 cricket as all are being hosted in the local area.
